Visit Regularly
To retain clients one has to make efforts to keep developing a relationship. Try to get in touch with your client at least once a quarter depending on the distance.
Take an interest in the country where the client is based
If the client thinks that you're only after their money, no trust will be formed. If you want to retain clients, then you have to get out of your hotel or the bar and make an effort to understand the culture, at least some of the native language, the history and also, get a feel for the place.
Get to know your clients as human beings
Take an interest into your clients' life and try and get to know them better.
